If the alarm is sounding, this means there is a malfunction with the pump. We recommend discontinuing usage of water, check that the breaker did not pop, silence the alarm and call our office.

If the alarm is sounding, this means there is a malfunction with the pump. This does not mean that your septic tank(s) are full. We recommend discontinuing usage of water, check that the breaker did not pop, silence the alarm and call our office.
Please see our sewage pump page for more information.
NOTE: If you have a holding tank and the alarm is sounding, this means you need to call our office to have the tanks pumped. But these are a special septic system. Many homes do not have holding tanks.
Our office will accept cash, check, and cards.
Please note that as of November 1st, 2023 – we do charge a 3% admin fee for the processing of cards. Including debit cards.
Baffles are a barrier installed within a septic tank that help to separate and direct the flow of liquids and solids. A baffle is there to slow down the flow of water entering the tank and allowing solids to settle in the bottom of the tank and create a layer of sludge.
Inlet baffle – assists with the wastewater flow through the tank and allows more time for the separation of liquids and solids.
Outlet Baffle – assists with letting liquid out of the tank to the next tank or drain field, while the solids and scum layer stays in the tank.
A riser is a large diameter plastic pipe that will be placed flush to the ground level and give access to the tank. A lid will be placed on top of the riser. It makes it easier for our technicians to access the tank for pumping, maintenance, and inspections.
We recommend that you only place soaps and water down the drains. Try to avoid placing oil and grease, liquid wastes such as drain cleaners, or coffee grounds. Avoid other products that could cause a clog in the lines or tank.
We recommend you only flush waste and toilet paper down the toilet. Avoid placing anything else down the toilet.
CLOGGERS: cooking oil or grease, diapers, baby wipes, cat litter, cigarettes, coffee grounds, grease, bath bombs, condoms, dental floss, paper towels & feminine hygiene products
KILLERS: household chemicals, gasoline, oil, pesticides, anti-freeze, paint, etc.
We recommend you only flush waste and toilet paper down the toilet. Flushable wipes truly are not flushable. They do not disintegrate fast enough to pass through a septic system. These should be treated like non flushable wipes .
We recommend using the garbage disposal sparingly. Food waste usually is slowly digested by the bacteria in your septic tank and can accumulate as a thicker layer of scum. The food pieces can also make their way into the drain field causing a clog. If you wish to keep using your garbage disposal daily, we recommend pumping more frequently.
We recommend that you do not place any additives in your septic system. The additives can break down the scum and sludge in your septic tank at a faster rate and can cause a clog in the outlet line/drain field. As well the chemicals can make their way into your drain field and can pose potential threat to the soil structure and groundwater. Some brands are labeled as “septic safe” and they truly are not.
We recommend if you have a clog or slow draining in your home to contact our office to pump and possibly jet/vacuum the lines
We suggest that you avoid driving or parking on your drainfield. Most drainfields are constructed in your lawn and are built with rock and pipe, chamber system, etc which can be damaged with the weight of vehicles and heavy equipment.
We recommend that you do not build any type of structure on your septic system. This can be a patio, deck, or any type of building. If you decide to place a patio or deck over a septic tank you limit the area for our technicians to clean the tank, and if a repair is needed to be made on your tank, we would have to tear up the area. If you decide to place concrete or asphalt over your drainfield you can reduce evaporation and supply of oxygen to the soil of your drainfield.
There can be many reasons there could be a smell coming from your septic system. This can be inside or outside of the home. If you notice a smell inside the home, we recommend checking that the vent pipe is clear and not clogged. If you notice the smell from a sink or toilet that hasn’t been used in a while, we recommend flushing or running water to possibly clear an air pocket that could be in the line. If your drainfield is not working properly that can be why there is a smell inside or outside. If inside, we recommend having the septic tank(s) pumped. If outside you see soft, wet, or spongy soil, this could be an indication that your drainfield is failing.
We recommend calling a restoration company to come to the home to properly clean the inside of your home. We also can come to the home and clean out the septic tank(s) and ensure there are no clogs in the inlet or outlet lines. If there is a clog inside a home, a plumber will need to be called.
There is no true answer to how often your septic tank(s) should be pumped. There are several factors that can determine how often to pump.
How many people are living in the home and size of the tank(s)
Having a garbage disposal may require more frequent pumpings.
Age of your system / Condition of your drainfield
Township ordinance
We recommend pumping every 2 – 3 years on average.
Our pricing varies by location and disposal of gallons. Our rates start at $211.
Each township is different, but if they have an ordinance, they require an inspection to be done. This is where our technicians will come to the property to clean all the tanks and do a visual inspection of the condition of your system.
Some things they will be looking for:
Baffles Condition of the tank walls – cracks, rebar showing Run back from drainfield
If there is a pump tank – if the pump is running properly
Please note this inspection is for township use only, this will not be used for an inspection for real estate, new construction to the property, or inspections required by the sewage enforcement officer. (Please check our inspections page for more details)
Most townships require an inspection and report to be sent to their offices. While on site our technician will fill out a township report and will bring it back to our office. Our office staff will review the report and ensure all information is correct. Many townships allow for our office to submit the form for our homeowners. If your township requires that a homeowner submits with either a signature or payment, we will mail the two forms with your invoice.
If you received a yellow or pink township form with your invoice this is a document to keep with your records. If you received a white and yellow/pink township form, then this is for you to finish completing and submit to your township. If you have any questions, our office can assist you.
Some townships do require a fee. You would need to submit the township report we provided with a fee to their office. Our office will explain the process when your property is scheduled.
